Niigata City Aquarium Marinepia Nihonkai (Sea of Japan)
Marinepia Nihonkai is a full-scale aquarium that introduces exotic aquatic life forms from around the world with an emphasis on the ocean environments of Niigata and the Sea of Japan. Featured sealife includes 600 varieties and 30,000 specimens. Access from the Niigata City area is also easy. This popular aquarium was reopened in July 2013 following renovations and has become a place where visitors can enjoy an intimate experience with fish and other sea life.
