Experience an Izakaya (Japanese pub) in Kanda
©AFLO
The area surrounding the Kanda Station Nishiguchi Shopping Street has undergone dramatic changes due to the diversification of consumer lifestyles and changes in urban structure. The Kandaeki Nishiguchi-Dori Street is lively and bustling with crowds on weekdays, but also has many issues, such as looking cluttered and lacking in uniformity.
In light of these problems, the Promotion Association aims to revitalize the shopping street. With the vision of "Kanda/Iki," the Chiyoda Ward government and the shopping street are working together to maintain and manage Kandaeki Nishiguchi-Dori Street as a bright, beautiful, and accessible street space, in order to ensure that it is always accessible and clean.
There are also events to look forward to, such as the Akita Yuzawa Tanabata Edoro Festival, held every two years in July, and the Winter Illuminations, when the area is decorated with lanterns while retaining the atmosphere of the Kanda Festival at the end of the year.
